Artist's Statement Elaine Bennett is an American artist living and working in Italy for the past 7 years. She has had numerous one-woman and group shows in the United States, the Caribbean, and Italy. Elaine's work is an extension of self, filled with passion and a vitality for life. She transports the viewer with her courageous brush-work and splendid colour into a fresh, magical realm. Elaine's notable success is due to her highly recognizable style, a unique collage of her international training, travels, and artistic aquaintances. "My paintings are just an expression of life as I live it. Nature figures connected to nature: the search for the primal condition; happy and innocent." The interpretation of the imaginary feminine, becomes, in Elaine's work, a meditative reality which at the same time liberates a type of existential realism.
